The Cell Sock~

The Incredible No Seam Cell Sock~

Material~ Sugar'n Cream 100% Cotton, 70.9 g, Hot pink and Hot Green. I've made three and have plenty left over for more.
Size 5 Needles, straight or circular, Size 6 DPNs, Darning needle, crochet hook for cinch, Imagination


Gauge~ 4.5 stitches and 6 rows equals an inch in slip stitch pattern.

Slip Stitches Purlwise

Worked from the bottom up

C/O 24 stitches using long tail method
Row 1 Knit 1, Slip One across, always slip last stitch on row
Row 2 Knit 1, slip One Across, slipping last stitch.

Work until piece measures 4.5 inches


Using two double pointed needles slip purlwise stitches as follows

First stitch needle A
Second Stitch needle B
Third stitch needle A
Fourth Stitch needle B
Continue across row effectively separating your work to a front and back.
Turn work inside out.

At this point you can divide stitches among more DPN's if you would like. I just kept them on two. Begin working in the round.

Eyelet Row
Knit 1 (k1, yo, k2tog) across ending with a Knit 1
Knit 4 rows in plain stocknette (knit all stitches)
Bind off loosely.

I used a picot bind off on one of mine as follows
Using cable cast on CO 4 stitches to left needle Knit 2, bind off one, until you bind off two of the original stitches, then cast on 4 more, and repeat around.

Make an crochet chain, or braid three pieces of yarn, or icord, to desired length and weave through eyelet row, tie the ends in knot.

Weave in loose ends with darning needle.



To make the alternating row color variation, I simply picked up the contrasting color after the second row, and then switched back and forth after two rows, making sure the new color was twisted around the old when changing.
